Cromwell is a great place to base yourself when touring Central Otago & beyond. There lies a whole raft of places to explore within easy driving distance. A great day trip, just 2 hours north of Cromwell, takes you through the spectacular terrain of the Lindis Pass, through Omarama & on into Mackenzie Country where you will find Mt Cook National Park. Late Spring & early Summer will treat you to masses of colourful Lupins growing wild on the roadside.

Once you have taken in the wonder of Mt Cook, another hour will find you at Lake Tekapo where the colour of the water & the view from the picture window in The Church of the Good Shepherd reward your extra driving time.
